Every January/February

The Almond Blossom

A truly spectacular time of the year, when for all of January and February all the mountains turn pink and white with the local almond blossom. Great time for walking the local hills with your camera to hand. Dry, warm, sunny days and evenings by the log fire. (Some of our houses have log fires, please see accommodation descriptions).

2020 El Almendro Seco still available

Our 2020 El Almendro Seco red (Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha and Merlot ) are still available. But hurry, we only made 500 litres of red and 60 litres of white, so don't delay too long in booking your holiday, or there'll be none left for you!

Andalucia Day

February 28th is Andalucia day, with a huge local free paella and as much beer as you can drink. Celebrate it with the locals.

Easter in Ferrer

Get away from the cold, wet, windy, miserable English Easter holiday, and swap it for sun, sea and sangria!

San Juan

Celebrate the longest day on the night of June 23/24th with the fiesta of San Juan, and a barbecue on the beach followed by a dip in the sea at midnight. Said to cure all ills!

Marvel at the sight of hundreds of bonfires lit all along the coastline as midnight approaches.

Local Summer Fiestas

From late May to the end of September, almost every weekend there are local fiestas, as every town and village celebrate their saint's day. Usually involves sampling local cuisine and wine, with each village adding their particular twist. Usually accompanied by fantastic free firework displays as the local councils try and outdo each other with the rates money!  Many also include a local bullfight, still ver popular in Spain, but not for the faint-hearted.

The Last Fiesta Of The Year

This takes place in Albunol a couple of valleys away on November 1st, when all the gip sies in Andalucia get together to try and sell you their prize donkey, mule or pure-bred Andalucian stallion. Book an extra piece of luggage for the flight home!!
